Terms & Conditions
Our Contract to you the “Customer”. These Terms and Conditions regulate the supply of items sold by:

In the Terms & Conditions "WE", “OUR” and "US" refer to Scooter Essentials & "YOU" and "YOUR" referring to the consumer. These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire and only agreement between us & you. Our acceptance of your order by delivery of the goods constitutes a legally binding contract between us on these terms and conditions.
**This contract shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law**
General Aspects If any single part of these terms & conditions set out by Scooter Essentials are void, illegal or unenforceable the validity, legality or enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be affected. In addition, the terms & conditions are purely designed to clarify the principles and procedures by which Scooter Essentials operate.
Payment ~ General Release and delivery of goods and purchases will only take place when we receive payment in full for your order either online or on shop premises. This would only normally apply in the case of cheque payment, where time must be given for your bank to release the appropriate funds. The only time this may change is if there has been conformation and agreement in writing from us to you.
Payment ~ Online Security Scooter Essentials destroy all account details once payment has been successful and the goods dispatched. While Scooter Essentials makes all efforts to ensure the services we provide are both secure and robust, we make no claims about this security. If unauthorised access (from a third party) is gained to your credit/debit card account details Scooter Essentials will NOT be held responsible.
Stock & Availability Although Scooter Essentials try to carry all spares & accessories for both Lambretta & Vespa motor scooters there may be times, where we may not be able to fulfil your order due to stock availability. In these situations Scooter Essentials will only charge for the items that are available and sent and will be clearly displayed on the receipt. No substitute items will be sent unless otherwise instructed by you the customer.
Prices ~ Service & Product All prices displayed (online and within the shop) are all inclusive of VAT at the standard rate of 17.5%, and all prices are subject to change without due notice. If the retail price has increased beyond our control after an initial quote, we will contact you to confirm that you still require the item(s) on your order before we dispatch.
Scooter Essentials endeavour to ensure that all products and prices are accurately specified and believed to be fit for the purpose described. No warranty to this effect is given and no responsibility can be accepted in the event of injury or damage arising from an error or mis-description.
Delivery & Cancellation Scooter Essentials will endeavour to offer the highest possible delivery service we can. We will deliver your order, unless pick-up has been agreed, to the details supplied BY YOU. If these details are incorrect, Scooter Essentials will not be held responsible for loss or damage of items as a result of incorrect passing of information. Therefore, when filling in any customer details please ensure that they are correct before submitting.
On receipt of order the customer is asked to check the packaging whilst the courier is present, and if the package has sustained any damage this must be written on the courier’s delivery notes at the time of delivery.
All packages are sent first class recorded and will require signing for. This policy is to ensure that any letter, parcel or bag can be tracked and receipt of goods confirmed, thus, protecting you the customer and us Scooter Essentials. In addition, the customer is also asked to check all items for damages and/or shortages within the order. Please note that Scooter Essentials must be notified of any discrepancies within 48hrs of receipt. After this 48hr period Scooter Essentials will not be held responsible for incorrect order or damage. You may contact us by Telephone, Fax, or E-mail.
In the unlikely event that you have not received your goods within 7 working days (UK) or 30 days (overseas) after the date of placing your order, please contact Scooter Essentials and we will commence a search for your order. Customers are reminded that they are responsible for any duties and/or taxes levied at the point of entry into the destination country.
Once a delivery has been picked and in transit it is NOT POSSIBLE TO CANCEL. If however, the order is cancelled prior to dispatch, then Scooter Essentials will be happy to refund you in full. However, you must return the goods to us at your cost unless the goods being returned are a mistake of Scooter Essentials or they are faulty, or incorrect. Items that show damage through misuse will not be considered for replacement or credit. We remind customers to assess the condition of the product before applying for a replacement or credit. Credit or refunds will only be completed once Scooter Essentials have received the returning product and has no evidence of misuse and the reason for return is genuine.
Liability If you have notified us of a problem with the goods, we will either:
Correct any shortage or non-delivery;
Replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective upon delivery (providing damage to packaging has been identified at time of receipt and reported to the courier)
Refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question.
We will not be liable to you for:
Any loss of profits, administrative inconvenience, disappointment, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem in relation to the goods
Scooter Essentials shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than any refund we make under these conditions.
This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, nor is it intended to exclude our liability to you for fraudulent misrepresentation or for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.
Special Items T&C’s – Cylinder Kits Scooter Essentials DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY Cylinders, Barrels & Piston Kits. The life and effectiveness of theses products are determined by the way in which the scooter is ridden, mechanically assembled and “set up” especially during the “Running in Period”. Scooter Essentials cannot determine if the product has been mechanically assembled correctly outside of Scooter Essentials and the “Running In Procedure” has been carried out correctly. Therefore, Scooter Essentials will not be held responsible for any mechanical break downs as a direct result of poor mechanical assembly and incorrect running procedures.
Abbreviations
Set up This describes the way in which a group of components are achieving a desired effect. The Correct Set Up indicates that the system incorporates all the appropriate components to operate effectively and more importantly safely. In contrast, an Incorrect set up will lead to poor performance and even damage.
Running In Period This is the initial riding period after the addition of a NEW cylinder kit. Most kits will require a period of steady running to allow the piston & barrel to wear evenly, essential to avoid heat seizers.
